Five defendants fined for flouting health, home quarantine regulations

Manama, May 19 (BNA): The Lower Criminal Court has fined an owner of a commercial outlet BD 1000 for flouting health regulations which consist in measuring the temperature of customers and workers before entering the outlet, directing customers to leave 1 metre between them, clean and sterilize trolleys before and after using them and ensuring workers wear protection gloves.
The court has also fined four defendants BD 1000 each for beaching the home quarantine rules imposed on them to curb coronavirus outbreak.
The Public Prosecution launched a prompt investigation after receiving notifications from the Public Health Directorate against 19 people who did not commit to home confinement. It also conducted an investigation with 10 defendants who opened their commercial outlets in violation of a ministerial decision to close some outlets to prevent the spread of the pandemic. The defendants were questioned and released on a bail pending investigation.
