HH Shaikh Nasser orders allocation of BD5 million to support COVID-19-affected humanitarian cases

Manama, May 20 (BNA): Following directives from HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the ‘Feena Khair’ Campaign’s Coordination Committee, which is in charge of distributing aid, has announced the allocation of BD5 million to support needy Bahraini families and individuals who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser extended sincerest thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who is also RHF’s Honorary President, for his constant interest in the health and safety of the citizens and residents.
HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), HM the King has placed the health of the citizens and residents on top of his priorities, and ordered a big budget to protect human beings in Bahrain and safeguard the national economy from the pandemic, thus ensuring Bahrain’s success in fighting the pandemic, earning the kingdom international appreciation and the praise of the World Health Organisation (WHO).
HH Shaikh Nasser valued highly the tremendous efforts exerted by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the National Taskforce for Combating Cornavirus, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to put in place all international precautionary measures to confront the pandemic, lauding the great response shown by the citizens, residents, companies and institutions with the national ‘Feena Khair’ campaign, which, he stressed, has achieved outstanding success in backing the national endeavours to fight coronavirus.
RHF’s Secretary-General, and the Chairman of the committee on coordinating the efforts of the ‘Feena Khair’ campaign, Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed Al-Ameen, said that based on HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives, the BD5 million will be devoted to supporting three main social categories, namely RHF-registered needy families who meet the requirements, productive families who are affiliated with the RHF and the Labour and Social Development Ministry, and whose businesses have been hit by the spread of the pandemic, in addition to the virus-affected uninsured business owners with virtual commercial registrations who are registered with the Labour and Social Development Ministry and Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry.
Dr. Al-Sayed indicated that the RHF is currently cooperating with the Information and e-Government Authority (iGA) to launch an e-service to receive assistance applications through iGA’s website, Bahrain.bh, noting that the required eligibility terms, conditions and documents will be announced soon.
He noted that all applications will be studied carefully by the RHF, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, to verify the information included in them, ahead of delivering aid to the applicants.
