Prince Charles to pen environment book

Prince Charles will focus on the threat big business poses to the environment in a
new book and documentary due for release next year.
The project has been named Harmony and Charles will follow in the footsteps of
former US vice-president Al Gore, whose film An Inconvenient Truth won an Oscar and
helped him earn the Nobel Peace Prize.
Publisher HarperCollins says the prince's book will argue humans have become
dangerously disconnected from nature through their relentless pursuit of economic
growth and technological progress.
In a statement released by the Rupert Murdoch-owned publishing house, Prince Charles
said people had "a sacred duty of stewardship of the natural order of things".
"In some of our actions we now behave as if we were masters of nature and, in
others, as mere bystanders," he said.
"If we could rediscover that sense of harmony; that sense of being a part of, rather
than apart from nature, we would perhaps be less likely to see the world as some
sort of gigantic production system, capable of ever-increasing outputs for our
benefit - at no cost."
The book is expected to draw on the prince's experience as an organic farmer, with
scenes in the documentary to be filmed on his Highgrove estate.
A children's picture book is also planned for 2011.
