Shura Council participates in Arab Parliament virtual meeting

Manama, June 25 (BNA): Two Shura Council members have called on the Arab parliament to take firm stances against the continuous attempts to interfere in the internal affairs of Arab states, to prejudice their sovereignty and compromise their internal security with the aim of spreading chaos and sowing sedition among Arab peoples. Dalal Jassim Al Zayed, Chairperson of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, and Abdulrahman Mohammed Jamsheer, Member of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee, affirmed Bahrain's full support to and solidarity with Egypt and the measures it takes to defend its national and Arab security, preserve its sovereignty and protect its borders and people. The two parliamentarians, participating in the Arab Parliament session, expressed full support for the Cairo Declaration Initiative to establish security and stability in Libya. The Arab countries are facing multiple and continuous threats due to interference in their internal affairs and support to militias and terrorist organizations to carry out acts of sabotage and chaos in order to harm them and hinder them from implementing their development and development projects, Al Zayed said. She hailed the Arab Parliament’s keenness to endorse a unified Arab strategy to deal with neighboring countries and put an end to their hostile acts and interference, especially Iran with its threats to Arab security and hostile role in many Arab countries. Bahrain has suffered from Iran's policies and attempts to undermine security and stability in the Kingdom, she added. The continuation of these Iranian policies requires a serious Arab decision that prevents its interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries and forcing it to respect the sovereignty of states, observe the principles of good-neighborliness and adhere to international agreements and treaties related to this matter, she said. Al Zayed added that Iran has clearly threatened the shipping routes and global trade and deliberately carried out terrorist attacks against oil installations in Saudi Arabia, in addition to its occupation of the three Emirati islands, and other ongoing Iranian violation, she added. All this confirms Iran's plot to destabilize the Arab region in order to carry out its hostile policies, she said.
