Foreign Minister praises Bahrain's success in maintaining Tier 1 status

Manama, June 26 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, expressed sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, on the Kingdom’s achievement of maintaining for the third year in a row Tier 1 status in the annual report of the US Department of State on the classification of countries in the field of combating trafficking in persons. He said the accomplishment reflects the great efforts exerted by the Kingdom in protecting human rights, as a result of His Majesty's wise guidance, insightful vision and comprehensive reform approach. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also extended congratulations to the Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and to the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on this achievement that reflects the support and initiatives the government has taken in the field of combating trafficking in persons, which led the Kingdom of Bahrain to maintain its high status for the third year in a row. Dr. Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani praised the efforts of all government institutions in making the achievement, lauding the tireless efforts of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, headed by Chief Executive of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Osamah Abdulla Al-Absi. He hailed the authority’s initiatives to foster a culture of respect for human rights and promote the use of the best means to combat trafficking in persons. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also praised cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America in the field of promoting human rights and ensuring their protection, stressing the Kingdom of Bahrain's keenness to continue to work with the USA to further consolidate respect of human rights and public freedoms and combat human trafficking.
