Qatari Saleh Al Mohannadi Wins 7 km Running Race Title
Doha, June 30 (QNA) - Qatari Saleh Al Mohannadi won the title of the 7 km running race, which was organized by the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) within the framework of encouraging social groups to exercise and communicate remotely under current circumstances as a result of spread the coronavirus ( Covid - 19).
Al-Mohannadi completed the race in a time of 27.11 minutes, while Ali Al-Naimi came in second place with a time of 29.50 minutes, and Mahmoud Shadi came in the third with a time of 33.18 minutes.
The race saw women's participation, as Moda Daniel was crowned first, while Shobi Abraham came second, and Aya Hassan came third.
Mohammad Jaber Al-Mulla, Secretary General of Qatar Handball Association (QHA), said that the 7 km running race, which was organized by the QHA for the first time to encourage social groups to practice sport, achieved success that exceeded expectations through the great turnout and interaction that it had received from a large segment of the participants from both males and females, noting that this success encourages the QHA to launch other initiatives in the coming period.
For his part, Saleh Al-Mohannadi expressed his pleasure for winning the first position of the race, and said that the Qatar Handball Association (QHA) initiative to hold the race under the current circumstances deserves praise and appreciation, and is a model for sports federations in order to undertake similar initiatives to urge all segments of society to practice sports.
