Information Minister: Bahrain Radio nation's voice, partner in national achievements

Manama, July 8 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister, Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, today inaugurated the first phase of technical development project of Bahrain Radio studios. The project is part of the Information Ministry’s efforts to enhance media work and cope with the latest developments in the media, communications and information technology sector, in accordance with the Government Action Plan and the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. While inspecting the work flow at radio studios, in the presence of the Information Ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Bahar, and senior officials, the minister valued highly the efforts being exerted by dedicated Bahraini media and technical competencies who have contributed to implementing the technical project that adds to Bahrain Radio’s achievements over the past eight decades. Al-Romaihi was briefed by Bahrain Radio Director, Younes Salman, about the main aspects of the technical development project in its first phase, as well as the modernisation of the digital equipment in broadcasting, work management and archiving in seven radio studios. He was also informed about the inauguration of the live audio-visual broadcasting on the Internet and TV, as well as the upgrading of the monitoring and control rooms, sound equipment and the production of HD programmmes. The minister stressed that Bahrain Radio has, throughout its long history, embodied the real spirit of effective and national media, being the voice of the nation and its message of development, peace and progress. It also bears witness to the history of the modern civil state in Bahrain and a partner in the pioneering development and democratic achievement process during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era. Al-Romaihi pointed out that Bahrain Radio will continue its deep-rooted national mission of promoting national identity and discussing the issues that interest the nation and the citizens accurately, objectively and transparently, within the framework of responsible media freedoms. Such freedoms are guaranteed under the comprehensive development spearheaded by HM the King, supported by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and backed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, he added. The minister extended thanks and appreciation to the pioneers of radio work, paying tribute to the creative Bahraini competencies for their efforts to manage and operate national radio stations. He praised their dedication and distinction in carrying out their national media duties within the efforts of Team Bahrain to confront the exceptional circumstances resulting from the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, citing their contributions to raising public awareness on COVID-19. Al-Romaihi affirmed that the Information Ministry will carry on implementing more development projects, by using modern technology and enhancing digital transformation across various aspects of media work. He also asserted that the ministry will continue its training programmes to prepare highly-qualified and trained national media and technical competencies in order to support its efforts to deliver a credible, trustworthy, influential and sustainable media message through various news and digital platforms, including social media networks, on the bases of credibility, honesty, professionalism, efficiency and high quality.
