Bahrain hails ALECSO achievements

Manama, July 10 (BNA): The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) held its general congress as part of the 25th session.
Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi delegated Assistant Undersecretary for Curricula and Educational Advisory Ahlem Al-Amer to take part in the virtual session.
She appreciated ALECSO efforts to convene the remote conference on time, despite the challenge of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic which disrupted the entire world.
She expressed Bahrain's pride in pan-Arab organization, which celebrates its 50th anniversary, lauding its vital role as a bridge between Arab member countries.
Addressing the virtual conference, she praised the landmark achievements of the pan-Arab organization over the past half a century despite all the challenges it had faced.
She stressed the need for more support to achieve common goals, in order to promote Arab cooperation in the educational, scientific and cultural fields, being the pillars of development and the cornerstone of advancement and success in the race of nations towards social and economic progress.
She said that the pandemic that swept across the entire world, including the Arab countries, has shown the importance of strengthening and developing capabilities, citing particularly the use of information and communication technology in education, higher education and scientific research, and even in remote work.
She expressed Bahrain's pride in ensuring the continuation of online learning at various educational levels, despite the closure of schools and universities due to the disruptive pandemic.
