Minister chairs Foreign Ministry’s Council Meeting

Manama, July 19 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, chaired an online meeting of the Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the participation of the Assistant Foreign Minister, Undersecretaries, Assistant Undersecretaries, the Executive Director of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, Advisors of the Minister and the Council’s Secretary.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the French Republic, Dr. Mohammed Abdulghaffar, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Shaikh Hmood bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and a number of directors at the Ministry.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation of the support enjoyed by the Ministry from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister, in order to be able to achieve its goals.
He also commended the efforts of the Ministry’s staff and missions abroad to implement the Kingdom’s foreign policy, meet the needs of Bahraini citizens abroad and promote the Kingdom at the international level.
The minister stressed the importance of developing programmes that focus on training the administrative and diplomatic employees of the Foreign Ministry, with the aim of strengthening performance and improving productivity to achieve the goals of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development in the Kingdom.
The Council discussed a number of topics on its agenda, and adopted a system for employing local employees in diplomatic missions abroad, and a working system for the grievance committee for members of the diplomatic and consular corps and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Council also approved the launching of “Mubadara” programme, which encourages employees to present initiatives and proposals that contribute to developing performance and improving productivity.
The Council of the Foreign Ministry approved the formation of the Financial and Administrative Affairs Committee headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, and the formation of the Quality and Excellence Committee, headed by the Director of Operations, Ambassador Khalid Yusuf Al-Jalahma.
The Council also reviewed the report of the Follow-up Committee on Government Action Plan, headed by the Undersecretary for Regional and GCC Affairs, Ambassador Waheed Mubarak Sayyar.
It also adopted the recommendations of the Committee for the Affairs of Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps.
