Bahraini ambassador meets UK officials

London, July 22 (BNA): Bahrain’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met virtually the Shadow FCO Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Wayne David, the Shadow Minister of Foreign Office and International Development, Stephen Doughty, and the Shadow Minister for Peace and Disarmament, Fabian Hamilton.
The ambassador reviewed the bilateral relations between both kingdoms and ways to develop them, as well as their historical cooperation in all fields.
The parties discussed a number of issues of common interest, especially those related to ways to enhance the existing economic cooperation to serve the goals of both countries to raise trade exchange and to encourage tourism and joint investment.
Minister David thanked Bahrain’s embassy for its continuous contact with all parties represented in the British House of Commons, particularly the Labor Party, and affirmed his pride in the historical bilateral relations, which he will seek to urge its promotion through his position.
Minister Hamilton pointed out that the existing communication with the embassy is a prominent and pioneering example among the rest of the embassies in Britain, which is beneficial for both sides in terms of raising issues and knowing all points of view regarding the most important regional and international issues.
During the meeting, a presentation was delivered by the Director of European Affairs and European Union at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Shaikha Aisha bint Ahmed Al Khalifa, on the areas of cooperation between Bahrain and UK, including the political, economic, social and cultural areas, as well as reviewing the joint accomplishments of the two countries and their and future projects. In addition, the Policy and Research Adviser at the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Yara Reza Faraj, delivered a presentation on the historical chronology of the development process in Bahrain, which is carried out through the implementation of Bahrain Economic Vision of 2030, and the Government Action Plan, confirming Bahrain’s success in aligning its plans and programs with the goals of global sustainable development.
