Seven people killed in multi-car pileup in Seoul

SEOUL, April 24 (Yonhap) -- Seven people were killed and five others injured in a multi-car pileup in northern Seoul late Thursday night, police said Friday.

The accident occurred at around 10 p.m. when a bus rear-ended a passenger car and
about nine other vehicles, including those parked at roadside. The exact number
of cars involved was not immediately known.
All the seven occupants of the Avante passenger car were killed, the police said,
without giving details about the conditions of the injured.
The 59-year-old bus driver said he lost control of the vehicle as its brakes
didn't work before the accident.
Police said that they were investigating the exact cause of the accident.
