SAMSUNG AIMS TO BE MART LEADER
KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 (Bernama) -- Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd
aims to become a leader in Malaysia's television (TV) market with the launch of
its new range of light emitting diodes (LED) TVs.
"Samsung expects the market share to grow further to 25 percent this year
despite the current economic downturn," managing director, Yoon Ki Heung, said
at the launch of the TVs and the unveiling of 55 audio-visual products here
Thursday.
He said the immense market potential of the new TVs was expected to help its
drive towards its target of selling 26 million flat-screen TVs globally this
year.
Yoon said the new LED TVs came with highly advanced features and ultra-slim
design.
"The TVs incorporate cutting-edge display technologies, innovative design
and environmentally-friendly features," he said.
He said Samsung was targeting customers who enjoyed big-screen TV and
perfect quality picture, to buy its new TVs, with a price ranging from RM8,900
to RM20,000.
