MALCON EAST III MEMBERS RETURN FROM LEBANON

SUBANG (Malaysia), April 24 (Bernama) -- Some 160 men and officers of Malcon
East III returned from the United Nations (UN) peace mission in Lebanon Thursday
night.

The members were met on arrival at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base
here by Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) defence planning chief of staff Maj Gen
Datuk Ismail Ibrahim.

Deputy commander Left Col Arman Rumaizi Ahmad said the peace mission was
carried out smoothly without much problem.

He said the members managed to complete their tasks successfully despite the
Palestine-Israel tension over Gaza.

Corporal Azizah Ibrahim said the Palestine-Israel conflict over Gaza made
the experience in Lebanon unforgettable.

"We were always ready to face challenges including the unexpected. It was
scary at times," said the medical team member who was in Lebabon for nine
months.
