Kyrgyzstan reports 412 new COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, Aug. 4, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan reported on Tuesday 412 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 37,541. Ainura Akmatova, the head of the public health care department of the country’s Health Ministry told a daily news briefing that 107 of the new cases are laboratory confirmed cases and 305 are clinically confirmed cases. Of the total number of COVID-19 cases, 17,894 are laboratory-confirmed cases and 20,647 are clinically-confirmed cases. In addition, 25 of the new cases are medical workers, bringing the total number of contracted medical workers to 2,854,including 1,894 recoveries. Akmatova said that 816 patients of COVID-19 have recovered over the past day, bringing the total recoveries to 28,743. The virus-related death tally climbed to 1,427, with 7 more recorded in the last 24 hours. On March 18, Kyrgyzstan recorded its first infection with COVID-19. Some quarantine restrictions are still in effect in Kyrgyzstan, after the lifting the lockdown, which lasted almost a month and a half in some cities and regions of the country.
