BACA President: Beirut a treasure trove of Arab culture

Manama, Aug.5 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, expressed her deep sorrow for the tragic accident that devastated the Lebanese capital, Beirut. Shaikha Mai, also Bahrain-based Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage (ARC-WH) Chairperson, hailed the blast-hit Beirut as the treasure trove, laden with heritage, history and civilization which has long enriched the Arab culture. In a statement today, she stressed keenness to cooperate with relevant institutions to reclaim the memory that the huge explosion that rocked Beirut yesterday, Tuesday, tried to erase some of its historical and cultural features.
