Bahrain to dispatch first relief aid consignment to Lebanon

Manama, Aug. 6 (BNA): Based on the initiative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the directives of HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) is preparing to dispatch the first shipment of urgent humanitarian relief aid to brotherly Lebanon on Friday, to help alleviate its people’s suffering in the aftermath of the massive blast which rocked the capital Beirut. On the occasion, RHF Secretary-General Dr. Mustapha Al-Sayed, extended sincere thanks and appreciation to HM the King, who is also RHF’s Honorary President, for his initiatives towards the Lebanese people, out of the humanitarian ties binding all peoples of the world, and the fraternal relations between Bahrain and Lebanon. Al-Sayed lauded the great support enjoyed by RHF from the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, paying tribute to HH Shaikh Nasser for leading RHF’s humanitarian work. He said that an urgent relief aid consignment containing the necessary medical materials needed for such humanitarian conditions had been prepared, lauding the great cooperation and support of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Health Ministry. Dr. Al-Sayed added that during the delivery of the consignment, Bahrain’s condolences will be offered to the Lebanese leadership, government and people over the victims of the painful blast. He also said that the Health Ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Waleed Al-Manea, will discuss with the Lebanese Health Minister, the future humanitarian initiatives in order to support Lebanon and its people in the wake of the tragic blast, in line with the distinguished deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two countries.
