Shura Council congratulates UAE on historic agreement

Manama, Aug. 14 (BNA): The Shura Council has congratulated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and its leadership on reaching an agreement with the United States and Israel under which the annexation of the Palestinian territories would be halted. It also praised the UAE’s keenness to consolidate security and stability in the Middle East, as well as support the efforts aimed at achieving peace in the region. The Shura Council affirmed the kingdom’s stance towards the agreement to halt the annexation of Palestinian territories, and its praise of the deal reached between the UAE, the United States of America and Israel. The Council expressed its pride in the continuous diplomatic efforts made by the sisterly UAE to reach a great historic agreement that will have a positive impact on consolidating the foundations of stability and peace in the region, while carrying on development programmes and plans that achieve renaissance and progress for countries and peoples. The Shura Council stressed the need to intensify work and double efforts that lead to a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, in a manner that would meet the aspirations of the Palestinian people for establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, as well as achieve more peace and prosperity in the Middle East region.
