Bahrain strongly condemns Iran-backed Houthi militia’s targeting of Abha Airport

Manama, Aug. 31 (BNA): “Bahrain strongly condemns and denounces the Iranian-backed Yemeni Houthi militia’s attempt to target Abha International Airport in the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through booby-trapped drones, in a cowardly terrorist act that targeted the lives of safe civilians and aimed to destroy civilian facilities, which is considered a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law,” a statement by the Foreign Affairs Ministry said. “The Ministry praises the vigilance and readiness of the coalition forces that intercepted and destroyed the drone, and renews the firm supportive position of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the efforts of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to confront all those who attempt to destabilise its security and stability and threaten the lives of civilians, citizens and residents. “The Ministry also reiterates its full stance in support of the deterrent measures Saudi Arabia takes to address such terrorist aggressive acts in all forms,” the statement added.
