KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 (Bernama) -- International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed will lead a trade and investment mission to London from April 26 to 28, 2009.
The mission is aimed at updating the business community on latest
developments and business opportunities in Malaysia, the International Trade and
Industry Ministry (MITI) said in a statement Saturday.
It will also promote Malaysia's products and services and strengthen
business networking and establish collaborative initiatives and joint ventures
between the business communities of Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
A seminar on "Business Opportunities in Malaysia" will be held during the
mission and Mustapa will highlight trade and investment opportunities in
Malaysia.
He will also touch on measures undertaken by the government to strengthen
the economy, stimulate growth and address the effects of the global economic
slowdown, the ministry said.
Business meetings have also been arranged between Malaysian private sector
representatives and their business counterparts in the UK during the mission, it
said.
Mustapa will meet his counterpart, British Minister for Trade and Investment
Lord Mervyn Davies, and he will also speak at the Malaysia-UK Partnership
Dialogue and the Global Emerging Market Summit.
The ministry said that following the trade and investment mission to the UK,
Mustapa will go to Munich, Germany, from April 28 to 30 to meet with key senior
executives from two German multinational companies to discuss investment
opportunities in Malaysia.
The UK remained Malaysia's third largest trading partner in the European
