Royal Court Minister congratulates SCIA President on joining Muslim Council of Elders

Manama, Sept. 2 (BNA): Royal Court Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, has congratulated the President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, on becoming a member of the Muslim Council of Elders. Earlier this week, Grand Imam Shaikh Dr Ahmed al-Tayeb, Shaikh of Al-Azhar and Muslim Council of Elders Chairman, issued an edict appointing Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed as council member in recognition of his longstanding efforts and the SCIA's pioneering role in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In his congratulatory cable, the Royal Court Minister said that the edict is a top honour for SCIA President for his long experience in Islamic work, and affirms SCIA’s major role in Bahrain and efforts to consolidate unity among Muslims. He wished the SCIA President further success, stressing that he deserves to raise the kingdom’s banners at such a distinguished Islamic institution.
