Speaker congratulates SCIA President

Manama, Sept. 2 (BNA): Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal congratulated Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) President Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Khalifa on joining the Muslim Council of Elders. Grand Imam Shaikh Dr Ahmed al-Tayeb, Shaikh of Al-Azhar and Muslim Council of Elders Chairman, issued an edict appointing Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed as member in recognition of his longstanding efforts and the SCIA pioneering role in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Representatives Council Speaker affirmed that the appointment asserts Bahrain’s high status and fruitful efforts in promoting the discourse of tolerance and coexistence, in light of the comprehensive development march spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She also praised the experience and efforts of the SCIA President and his outstanding contribution to promoting the kingdom’s status.
