Khalil Al Thawadi re-appointed Arab League Assistant Secretary General

Cairo, Sept. 10 (BNA): The Arab League has re-appointed Khalil Ibrahim Al Thawadi as Assistant Secretary General for the next five years. Al Thawadi, who has been holding the post since 2015, has made remarkable efforts during his work at the Arab League in arranging and participating in many functions related to the Arab League and boosting pan-Arab work. He spearheaded the efforts of the Arab League with the Transitional Military Council in Sudan and representatives of the political and civil forces to encourage the Sudanese parties to resume dialogue which culminated in signing of the documents of the transitional period last year. He also headed the Arab League’s delegation to monitor the second round of the Tunisian presidential elections in 2019. Al Thawadi held many posts in Bahrain and was the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Egypt and Sudan in 2004.
