Bahrain marks World Town Planning Day

Manama, Nov. 8 (BNA): Marking the World Town Planning Day, which is observed on November 8, Chief Executive of the Urban Planning and Development Authority Noof Abdulrahman Jamshir expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the engineers and workers in the urban planning sector for their vital role in planning towns in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She stressed the importance of continuous cooperation and integration between the government institutions to press ahead with comprehensive growth witnessed by Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Jamshir affirmed that the international occasion marking urban development and town planning is considered an opportunity for evaluation and continuous urban monitoring to achieve best results in serving many development goals by combining the requirements of sustainable growth and comprehensive urban planning. She stressed that planning all regions in the kingdom is among the priorities of the Urban Planning and Development Authority so as to enable citizens to benefit from the planning projects. The Urban Planning and Development Authority Chief Executive indicated that joint cooperation between the authority and all sectors concerned with town planning and development in the kingdom contributes greatly to unifying visions and accelerating the process of developing urban societies by studying, preparing and implementing varied development plans that are consistent with the national strategic structural plan. She added the aim is to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) 2030 and the government’s programme 2019-2022.
