Works Minister participates in GCC meeting

Manama, Nov. 10 (BNA): Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf, participated in the 23rd meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) municipal ministerial committee. The minister affirmed that the meeting completes the steps towards achieving sustainable municipal work and the development and modernization of all municipal work systems. This contributes to enhancing the steps aimed at achieving the welfare of Gulf citizens, and achieving development in the infrastructure of cities and municipalities in GCC countries. The meeting discussed issues related to the joint Gulf municipal action strategy, the urban environment, municipal work conferences, municipal information bases. It also discussed The GCC Award for Municipal Cooperation, in addition to the Ministerial Council’s decision on strategic urban planning, implications of the Coronavirus pandemic, the municipal efforts and future plans to confront the crisis in the GCC countries.
