Qatar Begins Preparations for the 2021 World Military Parachuting Championship

Doha, November 16 (QNA) - Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces held on Sunday a the first preparatory meeting for the 44th World Military Parachuting Championship (CISM 2021), which Doha will host from November 15 to 20 of next year. The meeting was chaired by HE Commander of the Joint Special Forces and Head of the Committee, Major General Hamad bin Abdullah Al Fetais Al Marri. At the outset of the meeting, HE the Commander of the Joint Special Forces welcomed the attendees, and said that hosting the CISM 2021 is the fruit of the unlimited support and the comprehensive and complete care provided to sports by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Commander in Chief of the Qatari Armed Forces. HE also extended thanks to HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah for forming the committee which will work to contribute to achieving success of this major global event, especially in light of the State's preparations to host the 2022 World Cup, and to complement the achievements of Qatar Parachuting Team. He expressed pleasure for kicking off the preparations for the CISM 2021 championship, stressing that the Committee will make every possible effort to organize the event in an ideal and distinct manner that is worthy of the reputation of the State of Qatar. He added that organizing the championship is a continuation of the achievements made by the Qatar Parachuting Team of the Joint Special Forces, noting more effort and work to make this important sporting event an extension of the great successes of Qatari sports. HE Commander of the Joint Special Forces Major General Hamad bin Abdullah Al Fetais Al Marri said that nearly 45 countries are expected to take part in the World Military Parachuting Championship in Doha, stressing that the State of Qatar seeks to present an exceptional edition of the championship, thus contributing to enhancing trust and bonding among the participants and promoting the cultures at the international levels. He underlined that the wise leadership spares no effort to promote sports and athletes, adding that the early preparations for the championship started confirms the ability of the State to host major tournaments. HE noted that CISM 2021 will also provide the opportunity for the participating delegations to view the 2022 World Cup projects, which are due to be completed before the championship. During the meeting, various committees working in the organization for the tournament were formed in order to start the work early and prepare in full swing for the 2021 World Military Parachuting Championship, which comes within a series of Qatar's successes in hosting major sports tournaments. Qatar won the bid the host the 44th World Military Parachuting Championship after the official confirmation of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) and the visit of PCSC Parachuting Colonel Gernot Rittenschober to Doha to hand over the hosting certification to HE Commander of the Joint Special Forces Major General Hamad bin Abdullah Al Fetais Al Marri.
