Katara, Ukrainian Amber World Association Sign MoU

Doha, November 19 (QNA) - The Cultural Village Foundation- Katara signed on Wednesday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ukrainian Amber World Association. The MoU was signed for Katara by General Manager Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti and for the Ukrainian Amber World Association by its representative, Dr. Olga Revina, in the presence of HE Ambassador of Ukraine to Qatar Andrii Kuzmenko. Katara General Manager Khalid Al Sulaiti looked forward for the MoU to contribute to establishing a fruitful and lasting relationship between Katara and the Ukrainian Amber World Association, aiming at technical exchange in the amber sector, and the organization of high-level exhibitions, workshops and seminars that will have a significant positive impact on the amber sector in general and on both sides in particular, through the convergence of experiences and the exchange of information and research. Al Sulaiti added that the outputs of the MoU will enhance the distinguished position Katara has achieved through its annual International Exhibition for Kahraman, through which it established itself as a leader international center for amber, and a global forum that brings together experts, researchers and manufacturers in the world of amber, as well as an ideal platform that contributes to the development of this sector at the world level. For his part, HE Ukrainian Ambassador to Qatar Andrii Kuzmenko underlined that the cooperation between the two sides promotes the relationship between the two countries and the two peoples, and provides a new addition to the common cultural denominators in the field of amber. During the signing ceremony, HE the Ukrainian Ambassador presented to Katara General Manager a book on the history of amber in his country, stressing that MoU strengthens the cooperation between the two friendly countries. Representative of the Ukrainian Amber World Association Dr. Olga Revina expressed thanks to Katara and commended the mutual cooperation in the field of amber. Dr. Revina valued the Cultural Village Foundation's invitation to take part in Katara International Exhibition for Kahraman, and said that the MoU opens new horizons for the partnership between the two sides in the Kahraman sector and the organization of events centered around the most important and rare types of amber. Katara launched the first International Exhibition for Kahraman in 2019 as the first exhibition specialized in amber in the State of Qatar and the Middle East and the second largest international exhibition specialized in amber after the international exhibition held in Poland. At the beginning of this year, Katara opened a permanent Kahraman center in Building 48, and signed a cooperation agreement with the International Amber Association, based in Poland, reinforcing its position as an international destination and the only center for amber in the Middle East.
