Al-Arab, Al-Raya Hail Qatari-Omani Historic Relations

Doha, November 19 (QNA) - Al-Arab and Al-Raya newspapers affirmed in their editorials Thursday the depth of the Qatari-Omani relations which were cemented by the tribal kinship and solid brotherhood, in addition to the coordination between the two countries in all areas as well as convergence of views in regional and international issues. The Qatari dailies stressed that the relations between the two countries represent a model for brotherly relations, thanks to the keen attention of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman. The two newspapers agreed that the joint cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman have developed in various fields and that coordination has always existed between the two countries on various local, regional and international issues. For its part, Al-Arab newspaper said that on Wednesday, the brothers in the Sultanate of Oman and the people of the region celebrated the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Sultanate of Oman, which falls on November, 18. The Qatari daily pointed out that the occasion this year bears special significance, being the first under the banner of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq who assumed the reins of power in his country on January, 11 after the death of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the founder of Oman's Renaissance. The paper underlined the message HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani received on May,18, 2020 from HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq pertaining to the brotherly relations between the two countries and the most prominent regional and international issues of common concern. HE Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah conveyed the message during a meeting with HH the Amir, the daily said, noting the numerous meetings between officials of the two countries that reflect the keenness of the two sides for ensuring stability and security of the Gulf and the Middle East in general. The newspaper highlighted the two countries' commercial and tourism potentials and human resources, which contribute to the development of the economic relations between them and will also contribute greatly to the continuity of steady growth, and this prompts more efforts and joint cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly people. Al-Arab concluded its editorial by saying that Qatar and Oman will remain a role model in relations between countries, and a firm foundation for the stability of this region of the world, which cannot tolerate any unaccounted policies, the price of which is paid only by people. Al-Raya newspaper said that November 18 of each year represents one of the most important national memories entrenched in the modern history of the Sultanate of Oman. It clearly refers to the civilizational transformation that the Sultanate has witnessed since the start of the renaissance, which was established by the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur and will be continued with determination and confidence under the leadership of HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq. The newspaper noted the affirmation of HM Sultan of Oman, in his speech on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Sultanate of Oman, that the current leadership will continue to be inspired by the same core principles and values in laying the foundation of the new stage, in which the Sultanate, will march confidently forward towards the lofty status it desires to achieve. It referred to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's confirmation in his congratulations to his brother HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and the brotherly Omani people on this occasion, that the two countries share strong fraternal ties and historic cooperation relations based on solidarity and affection. During the past five decades of the Late Sultan Qaboos bin Said's leadership, the Sultanate of Oman has witnessed the implementation of giant economic projects, most notably are the oil refineries in Muscat, Sohar and Duqm and heavy and petrochemical industries. The Sultanates government has also taken care to encourage various commercial and industrial activities and provided them with the necessary support for success and continuity. It also has worked to update laws and legislation related to attracting Investments, Al-Raya said. Al-Raya concluded by saying that the joint cooperation relations between Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman have developed in various fields and coordination has always existed between the two countries on various local, regional and international issues.
