Bahrain celebrates International Day of Disabled Persons
Manama, Dec. 2 (BNA): Bahrain will participate on the International Day of Disabled Persons, which marked every year on December 3 and approved by the United Nations General Assembly since 1992.
This international day came to enhance the rights of disabled persons in compliance with international conditions to support human rights, bring peace and security, and implement the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
In this year's edition, the World Health Organization (WHO) with its partners will celebrate the day under the slogan (A Day for All), to enhance awareness of the concept of disability as part of the human condition.
Labor and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, affirmed the Kingdom’s pride in the category of People with Determination and their contributions to society, stressing keenness to enhance their rights by launching initiatives and projects to serve them which made Bahrain appreciated and praised in regional and international forums for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s insightful vision and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
