HM King welcomes US recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara

Manama, Dec.10, (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa welcomed the US recognition of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over the Western Sahara and the opening of an American consulate in the city of Al-Dakhla. HM the King said that the US move represents an important historic step forward which will bolster the territorial sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco and consolidate its rights in Western Sahara. HM the King praised the announcement made by HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco, regarding official contacts and the establishment of diplomatic relations with the State of Israel, which would support the opportunities to achieve peace, stability and prosperity in the region. HM the King praised US President Donald Trump’s good efforts to facilitate this agreement.
