Information Minister chairs BIPD Board of Trustees meeting

Manama, Dec. 13 (BNA): Minister of Information, Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, the Board of Trustees Chairman of Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), extended sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the national days. He lauded the kingdom’s pioneering development and civilizational achievements in the prosperous era of HM the King, pointing out unwavering keenness to foster democratic work and human rights as well as develop the national cadres and hone their educational and professional potentials. The Information Minister was speaking as he chaired remotely today the regular meeting of BIPD Board of Trustees, in the presence of the board members and Executive Director. The BIPD Board of Trustees praised the programmes carried out by the institute in the previous period despite the exceptional circumstances undergone by the kingdom and the whole world because of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. They pointed out the positive response of the public to them with the participation of more than 10,000 participants from all social components. They reviewed the institute’s activities in 2020 and success in dedicating technological resources to ensure continuity of the activities in parallel with full commitment to the precautionary measures put in place by the health authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The BIPD Board of Trustees discussed the functions that will be implemented in light of the 2021 plan which includes a set of training and awareness activities aimed at boosting political and democratic awareness among all social components in accordance with the provisions of the constitution and the National Action Charter. The meeting also cast light on the institute’s financial budget in tune with the current phase and the requirements of the Fiscal Balance Programnme.
