SEA president chairs meeting to follow-up NEEAP and NREAP

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA): Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) President Dr. Abdulhussein bin Ali Mirza chaired the 20th meeting of National Committee to execute and follow up the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) and National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP). Dr.Mirza reviewed the latest developments since the committee’s last meeting, which was the approval of the Cabinet for Bahrain to join as a member of the International Energy Alliance (ISA). In addition to SEA’s technical support by providing the government and private agencies with what is needed to install solar energy systems on their buildings, in order to reduce the costs of electricity consumption, benefit from clean energy and contribute to achieving national energy goals. He also reviewed with the committee the developments in the pilot project for using solar energy in water desalination and wastewater recycling, where a study was prepared on the pilot phase and its outputs, and the SEA will submit the study with its recommendations to the Water Resources Council.
