Information Minister: Bahrain oasis of tolerance, democracy

Manama, Dec. 15 (BNA): Information Minister Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi has lauded the consolidation of responsible press and media and the freedom of expression and creativity under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s comprehensive development progress with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The minister extended deepest congratulations to HM the King and the government, led by HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister, marking Bahrain's National Days in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini state as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al Fateh in 1783, the anniversary of its full membership in the United Nations, and the anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne.
Al-Romaihi expressed his pride and that of all Bahrainis in the democratic, human rights and development achievements in the kingdom.
The minister voiced pride in the keenness of the national media competencies, within the Team Bahrain, led by HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to carry out their patriotic duties of raising awareness on the precautionary measures to combat the coronavirus, disseminating accurate information and facts, and highlighting the Kingdom’s outstanding status as an oasis of tolerance and democracy, as well as a beacon of intellectual and civilisational enlightenment.
Al-Romaihi affirmed that the press and media community are living in a distinguished period thanks to HM the King’s unlimited support for press and media freedoms, within the state of law and institutions.
The minister stressed that the press and media are committed to consolidating the values of justice and human rights, adhering to the nation’s fundamentals and loyalty to HM the King, cementing the society’s unity and integrity, as well as promoting the good citizenship values and the principles of peace, tolerance and moderation.
He highlighted the keenness of the media to report on national issues objectively and honestly within their commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s democratic and development progress and to fostering the values of tolerance and national unity.
