Marking Diplomatic Day, Foreign Minister praises support of HM King, HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister

Manama, Jan. 13 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, expressed deep pride and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the great care and continuous support he provides to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its diplomatic and administrative personnel, in recognition of their sincere national efforts in performing the tasks and responsibilities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to achieve the foreign policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also hailed the great support accorded to the ministry by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and for the great interest he shows in strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and all countries of the world. Dr. Al-Zayani said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes great pride in celebrating the Diplomatic Day on January 14 of each year. The day was allocated by His Majesty the King to celebrate the diplomatic corps. He added this affirms the great interest shown by His Majesty in diplomatic work and those in charge of it. He noted that it is a good occasion to express great loyalty and gratitude to the wise leadership that has defined the principles and foundations of foreign policy, its diplomacy and objectives, in order to achieve the homeland's supremacy among the nations, defend its sovereignty, independence and interests as well as extend bridges of cooperation with all countries of the world. Dr. Al Zayani stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs derives from the wisdom of His Majesty the King, his enlightened visions and insightful thinking what helps it to perform its duties and responsibilities to the fullest. He added that its diplomatic work is based on His Majesty's firm visions to promote tolerance, coexistence and cultural exchange among all people, religions and beliefs, in order to spread the values of peace, brotherhood and rapprochement among all. He expressed his appreciation and pride in the distinguished success achieved by the Bahraini diplomacy in various fields, in line with the directives of His Majesty the King, and the keenness of the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to promote the presence of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the international level, highlight its achievements and consolidate its active role in the international community, in compliance with international conventions and covenants. He also praised the sincere efforts made by the founder of Bahraini diplomacy, the Deputy Prime Minister, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, throughout the years of his service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, extending thanks and appreciation to the Adviser to His Majesty the King for Diplomatic Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Khalifa, for his remarkable efforts during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Al-Zayani expressed sincere congratulations to all personnel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on this day, lauding their efforts to carry out the tasks and duties assigned with them to safeguard the interests of the homeland and its citizens abroad. He also underscored the efforts exerted to strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries. He praised the dedicated efforts made by diplomatic missions abroad to deal with the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, and their outstanding contribution to ensuring the return of thousands of Bahraini citizens abroad to the homeland. The Foreign Minister affirmed that the ministry will continue to follow a foreign policy approach characterised by moderation, balance, flexibility, harmony and constructive cooperation with various nations and peoples, in compliance with the directives of His Majesty the King and the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and within the framework of international charters and laws. D. Al Zayani explained that the ministry will pursue its efforts to develop performance, improve productivity, upgrade the services assigned with it, and develop the capabilities of its diplomatic and administrative employees, within the framework of the ambitious plans it has adopted in this field. He stressed that the ministry relies a lot on the dedication of its personnel to perform the tasks assigned with them in order to implement the foreign policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
