Al Gharafa Reaches Quarter-finals of HH the Amir Cup after Pulsating Match

Doha, January 27 (QNA) - Al Gharafa reached Tuesday the quarter-finals of HH the Amir Cup after beating Al Shahaniya from the penalty spot 5-4. The match ended in a 2-2 after 90 minutes. Mouayed Mohsen and Jonathan Kodjia scored Al Gharafa's goals in the 24th and 44th minute respectively. With eight minutes left, Al Shahaniya mounted a comeback thanks to Birahim Gaye's brace in the 82nd minute and then in the final minute of the game. Al Shahaniya couldn't complete the comeback however, and Al Gharafa managed to win it from the penalty spot 5-4. This sets up a clash between Al Gharafa and Al Sadd in the quarter-finals of the competition. (QNA)
