SCE President calls for synergised efforts to protect environment

Manama, Feb. 3 (BNA): Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE), His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, stressed that the National Environment Day is one of the most important occasions in the Kingdom of Bahrain that are given care and support by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He described the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as an incentive for SCE to continue implementing plans and initiatives to preserve a safe and civilisational environment in the kingdom. HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that the royal decree to create the post of Special Envoy for Climate Affairs reflects HM the King’s insightful and ambitious vision to advance climate-related work, being one of the most important contemporary issues and one of the environmental challenges facing the whole world. Marking the National Environment Day, which is observed on February 4 under the theme “We Preserve the Climate to Protect Future Generations, HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa called for synergized efforts by citizens and residents regarding environmental and climate-related issues. He described the occasion as an opportunity to remind of the need to preserve the sustainable development goals and all environmental achievements brought about by the Kingdom of Bahrain. He added it is also an occasion to join the world in protecting the environment and handling climate change on this planet. HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa commended the efforts made by the SCE personnel in preparing and implementing strategies and initiatives. He stressed the council’s resolve to continue boosting the kingdom’s national achievements as well as its regional and international status in the environment and sustainable development field, in the prosperous era of HM the King.
