Japan, Czech Republic agree to cooperate in countering global warming

PRAGUE, May 4 Kyodo - Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso and Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek agreed Sunday in Prague to promote bilateral cooperation in countering global warming and intensify the exchange of information to prevent the spread of the new influenza.

The two leaders also shared the view that North Korea's nuclear development
program is a threat to world peace.
They basically agreed, meanwhile, to hold foreign ministerial talks among
Japan, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland later this month in
Hanoi on the sidelines of the Asia-Europe Meeting in order to enhance ties
between Japan and the East European countries.
Aso arrived in the capital of the Czech Republic early Sunday on the first leg
of a four-day trip, which will also take him to Germany, for talks with
European leaders on issues ranging from the new flu epidemic to the economic
crisis.
Aso is due to return to Tokyo on Wednesday.
