Al Ahly Praises Qatar's Organization of the FIFA Club World Cup 2020

Doha, February 08 (QNA) - Egypt's Al Ahly praised Monday the State of Qatar's ability to organize the FIFA Club World Cup 2020, which is hosted in Qatar for the second year in a row. Al Ahly is set to face Bayern Munich at Ahmed bin Ali stadium in the semi-finals later tonight. Al Ahly's players Hussein Al Shahat and Mohammed Al Shenawy said they were impressed with the tournament's organization, whether in terms of accommodation, training facilities, or stadiums. They stressed that fans should expect a special World Cup in Qatar in less than two years from now. El Shahat, who scored the winning goal in Al Ahly’s match against Qatari champions Al Duhail SC earlier in the competition, said that the organization has been world-class. He praised the training facilities and stadiums as being on the highest level, highlighting that the State of Qatar was doing a great job that makes all Arabs proud. The Egyptian winger expressed his hopes that Qatar would host a fantastic World Cup edition in 2022, stressing his belief that fans would enjoy their time in the World Cup in Qatar. He also said he hopes the pandemic would over by then so fans can enjoy the amazing atmosphere in the stadiums. El Shahat also praised the Qatar-based Al Ahly fans, for their support during the 1-0 victory over Al Duhail at Education City Stadium. He added that Al Ahly has fans all over the world, expressing his delight to play in Qatar with fans in the stands. For his part, Al Ahly goal keeper Al Shenawi said that the players had adapted well to the precautionary measures that are set in the State of Qatar, as it aims to protect everyone from infection with the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). He added that the atmosphere remains good even though they are in a bubble, and stressed that all members of the club are committed to the measures, thanking the organizers for their efforts to organize the competition. He added that the team fully understands the conditions they are in, stressing that they are determined to do well in the competition given its importance. El Shenawy said the tournament was excellent preparation for the World Cup, which he believes fans from across the globe will enjoy. The goal keeper said that the FIFA Club World Cup was the perfect preparation for the World Cup, describing Qatar's preparations and stadiums as world-class, and expressed his confidence that fans from all over the world will enjoy their stay during the World Cup.
