Foreign Minister meets Cypriot counterpart

Athens, Feb.11 (BNA): Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, met his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides, on the sidelines of the Friendship Forum, held in the capital Athens, Republic of Greece. During the meeting, Dr. Zayani expressed his appreciation for the development and growth of friendly relations and joint cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly Republic of Cyprus at various levels. He stressed the Kingdom's keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus and advance it to broader and more comprehensive levels in order to achieve the aspirations of the two friendly countries. For his part, the Cypriot Foreign Minister praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Cyprus, which are based on foundations of mutual respect and appreciation. He also appreciated the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain in enhancing security, stability and peace in the region, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued prosperity and progress. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, developments in the region, and issues of common concern on the regional and international arenas. The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and the delegation accompanying the Minister.
