Qatar Racing Limited's TWILIGHT HEIR Reigns at Lingfield

London, February 15 (QNA) - In the colors of Qatar Racing Limited, TWILIGHT HEIR (Twilight Son x Xtrasensory) was back in the winners' enclosure at Lingfield, when winning a six-furlong handicap. This was his first start of 2021 and his first run since gelded in November of last year. He was a very competitive and consistent 2-year-old, finishing in the first three on all five of his starts, including a win for Newmarket-based trainer Michael Bell. Only three runners lined up in this handicap, with CHARLIE FELLOWES (Swiss Spirit x Filatelia) and WATER OF LEITH (Kodiac x Zakhrafa) lining up alongside TWILIGHT HEIR. Ridden by Cieren Fallon, second stable jockey for Qatar Racing Limited, TWILIGHT HEIR showed some character when the stalls opened, rearing up, but soon he quickly made up for the lost seconds to catch the leaders. WATER OF LEITH began to fade 600 meters from the finishing post, with CHARLIE FELLOWES comfortably leading TWILIGHT HEIR. Fallon brought the Qatar Racing Limited representative up to join the leader with just 200 meters left to run before taking the lead and the two 3-year-olds fought it out to the line with Twilight Heir always holding his rival at bay. He won by a head, with WATER OF LEITH in 3rd place by 3 lengths. (QNA)
