Preparations for HH the Amir Sword Festival for Show Jumping, Dressage Completed

Doha, February 15 (QNA) - Qatar Equestrian Federation & Modern Pentathlon (QEFMP) announced on Monday the completion of arrangements to organize the HH the Amir Sword Festival for show jumping and dressage. The event will begin on Thursday over the course of three consecutive days. HH the Amir Sword Festival for show jumping and dressage is the most prominent event of the QEFMP in every season and its most prestigious local tournament. It enjoys a large participation of jockeys and is highly organized. Secretary General of the QEFMP Ali Al Rumaihi stressed in a press conference the Federation's keenness to organize the festival amid strict precautionary measures for the safety of everyone, as the festival is held in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health in order to ensure that it is held in accordance with the measures followed in the country. He revealed that the tournament's financial prizes amount to approximately QR 500,000, as prizes will be presented to the jockeys in addition to a car for the first place winner in each race, indicating that the festival will be held with the participation of 100 jockeys. Al Rumaihi confirmed that the HH the Amir Sword Festival will be held amidst strict procedures, as only 10 percent of the field capacity is allowed, with seats that exceed this permitted number being covered. He also considered that the festival is a great opportunity for Qatari riders to prepare for the upcoming international competitions besides preparing for the Al Shaqab International Championship and the Longines International Equestrian Tour which will open in Al Shaqab in March in Doha. In the same context, QEFMP signed sponsorship contracts for the festival with a number of national companies: Vodafone Qatar, Baladna Food, Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros, and Al Emadi Enterprises. (QNA)
