Ombudsman receives US embassy Charge d' Affaires

Manama, Feb. 16 (BNA): Ombudsman Nawaf Mohammed Al Ma’awda received today US embassy Charge d’Affaires Margaret Nardi who was accompanied by the embassy’s political officer, Solmaz Sharafi. The Ombudsman briefed them about the missions and specialties of the Secretariat General and its keenness on boosting respect of human rights and getting informed about the international experience in the ombudsman office work field. He also outlined the overall activities of the Secretariat General, in light of the annual reports, and its professional relations with the competent parties like the Special Investigation Unit and the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commissions. The meeting was attended from the Ombudsman Secretariat General by Deputy Ombudsman Ghada Hamid Habib and Internatonal Cooperation and Development Director Shaikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa.
