AFC Champions League in Doha: Final Match Breaks All Records for Instagram Live Broadcast

Kuala Lumpur, February 18 (QNA) - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) said that the AFC Champions League Final, held in Doha in December 2020, broke all records for an Instagram Live broadcast for any sporting event or any broadcast from Asia on the social media video platform.
This came in the Technical Report and Statistics for the 2020 AFC Champions League released on the-AFC.com today. The report offers a summary of the tournament, which was held across four world class stadiums - three of which will be FIFA World Cup 2022 venues.
No broadcast in Asia has ever reached such an audience on Instagram Live and the 809,000 concurrent audience was almost double the previous best for sport. The match was the fifth most viewed Instagram Live stream anywhere in the world.
The AFC Technical Study Group captures the key elements of another remarkable year in the history of this competition and highlights the developing trends in Asian football as well as identifying some of the most influential players.
Individual team profiles and their performance statistics, along with the teams' key features are also presented in the report.
The report also breaks down the tournament's social media engagement, as it recorded over 2.2 billion interactions through the tournament's digital platforms. (QNA)
