Bahrain-US security cooperation discussed

Manama, Feb. 20 (BNA): National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, Major General HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, held a telephone call with the US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. He lauded strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the USA which reflect a long history of security coordination and strategic alliance. He also stressed Bahrain’s keenness on further bolstering cooperation between the two friendly countries. Major General HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa pointed out joint efforts to combat terrorism and safeguard regional stability. He noted, in this respect, the inauguration of the strategic dialogue between both countries and boosting the kingdom’s standing as a main security partner to the USA. He also reviewed the kingdom’s initiatives and achievements to promote peace, tolerance and stability in the Middle East, commending the US efforts in this regard. For his part, the US National Security Advisor expressed appreciation of the advanced level of relations between both countries, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further growth and prosperity. Both sides discussed boosting bilateral cooperation and issues of common interest.
