Shura Council backs Saudi Arabia

Manama, Feb. 27 (BNA): The Shura Council has expressed its categorical rejection of any attempt to undermine sisterly Saudi Arabia’s reputation, voicing full support for the statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Affairs Ministry in response to the report submitted to the US Congress regarding the murder of Saudi citizen, Jamal Khashoggi. The Shura Council affirmed the prominent and pivotal role played by Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister, HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, to lay down the foundations of regional and global security and peace, praising the remarkable and widely-recognised diplomatic efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia, through its foreign diplomacy, which is based on moderation and mutual respect at the regional, Arab and international levels. The Shura Council expressed its support for Bahrain’s supportive stance towards Saudi Arabia in the face of attempts to harm it and undermine its sovereignty and prestigious status, valuing highly Saudi Arabia’s role in enhancing global stability and economic growth.
