Bahrain attends Arab League meeting

Cairo, Mar.3 (BNA): Assistant Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al-Doseri, took part in the meetings of the 155th regular session of the Arab League at the ministerial level.
In his speech, he said that this meeting is held amid difficult and complex Arab and regional conditions, highlighting challenges, which require a unified position, solidarity and cooperation to defend national security and interests
“Foreign interference constitutes a flagrant violation of the national sovereignty of a number of Arab countries, constitutes a threat to Arab national security and contravenes international laws and covenants”, he said
He added that this interference is a source of great concern to Arabs, stressing the importance of mustering efforts and uniting stances to stave off interference in the internal affairs of our Arab countries
The Assistant Foreign Minister affirmed that terrorism and its extremist organizations represent a serious threat to the security and stability of Arab countries.
He highlighted the health implications resulting from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which took a heaving toll on sustainable development of Arab countries and on the daily life of Arab citizen.
He noted that it is imperative for us all to work together and intensify efforts to promote cooperation and coordination to mitigate the effects of this emergency pandemic, which imposed on the countries of the world to develop exceptional contingency plans to confront it, and prepare for the recovery phase.
To conclude, the Assistant Foreign Minister expressed Bahrain's support to the reappointment of Ahmed Abul Gheit as Secretary General of the Arab League for a second term.
