EU Parliament’s resolution ignored Bahrain’s human rights strides

Manama, Mar.12 (BNA): The EU Parliament’s resolution regarding the situation of human rights in Bahrain is unsubstantiated and lacks evidence, said Council of Representatives member Mp Isa Al Dosari. Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Deputy Chairman Al Dosari said that the resolution does not reflect Bahrain’s continued efforts to promote human rights, adding that such reports rely mainly on falsifying facts to serve foreign subversive agendas targeting Bahrain’s national security. “The EU Parliament’s resolution is unilateral and ignored Bahrain’s human rights strides in light of the reform project led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa”, he said, urging the European Parliament to reconsider its reports and observe transparemcy. He said that many institutions exercise their activities legally to promote human rights in Bahrain, adding the resolution, which relied on sources which are hostile to Bahrain.
