Qatar Second Division League: Markhiya to Face Muaither, Lusail to Meet Al Bidda

Doha, March 16 (QNA) - The nineteenth round of the second division football league for the 2020/2021 sports season kicks off tomorrow, Wednesday, with two matches between Al Markhiya and Muaither and Al Bidda with Lusail. The matches of the nineteenth round will stretch out to Thursday, where Al Shahaniya will play with Mesaimeer and Al Shamal with Al Waab. The eighteenth round saw Al Shahaniya win over Al Bidda 2-1, Al Shamal over Al Markhiya 3-0, Muaither over Al Waab 1-0 and Mesaimeer over Lusail with a score of 1-0. Al Shahaniya tops the table 39 points, followed by Al Shamal in second place with 36 points, then Muaither third with 29 points, Mesaimeer fourth with 26 points, Al Bidda fifth with 20 points, Al Markhiya sixth with 18 points, Lusail seventh with 16 points, and finally Al Waab eighth with six points. The second division champions qualify directly for the QNB Stars League for the next sports season 2021/2022, while the runner-up will play a play-off match with the eleventh-place in the QNB Stars League for the current sports season 2020/2021 to determine which team qualifies or stays in the QNB Stars League next season.
