Experts talk maternal and child health care

Khanh Hoa (VNA) - Vietnamese medical experts are sharing maternal and child health care experience with their colleagues from Belgium, Cambodia , China and Laos at a scientific seminar in central coastal Khanh Hoa province.

The four-day seminar, which will close on May 8, is part of the "Welcome
to Life" project sponsored by a Belgian non-governmental organisation,
Handicap International.

It focuses on measures to prevent deaths and disability before and after
birth, early detection and care of handicapped newborn babies and assistance
for disabled children to integrate into the community.

The participants will also discuss prenatal , natal and postnatal
care, newborn deformities, nutrition and foreign bodies.

They will hear speeches on the development of Cambodia 's community
health worker training programme, Vietnam 's common congenital defects and
the effectiveness of China 's Amadangpugu project.-Enditem
