Arab Ambassadors Council in Brussels condemns European Parliament interference in Arab affairs

Brussels, Mar. 17 (BNA): Bahrain's Ambassador to Belgium Dr. Bahia Jawad Al Jishi has stressed that the resolution issued by the European Parliament and its fallacies constituted an unacceptable interference in the Kingdom's internal affairs. The ambassador was speaking during the monthly meeting of the Arab Ambassadors Council in Brussels held virtually. At the ambassador's request, the Council expressed strong condemnation and total rejection of the European parliament statements and resolutions on the situation of human rights in the Arab countries, the most recent of which was the resolution on Bahrain. Dr. Al Jishi, who is also Bahrain's Ambassador to Luxembourg and Denmark and Representative to the European Union and NATO, stressed the importance of the Council confronting such resolutions and their allegations and fallacies. The resolutions are drawn from suspicious and dishonest sources and they are aimed at distorting the image of Bahrain as well as other Arab countries, she said. Dr. Al Jishi highlighted Bahrain's progress in protecting and promoting human rights and ensuring basic freedoms, both of which have been recognized and praised by many regional and international institutions. The Council agreed to hold a special meeting to discuss this issue and develop a plan to interact with the European Parliament regarding its resolutions against Arab countries.
