N. Korea says no case of new flu yet, checking travelers+
PYONGYANG, May 6 Kyodo - North Korea said Wednesday it has no confirmed case of influenza A (H1N1) in the country, and is rigorously checking foreign travelers from outbreak areas as part of prevention measures.
Pak Myong Su, vice head of the country's anti-epidemic commission, said
suspected cases are under surveillance in isolated conditions.
Those who are entering North Korea, especially those from the outbreak areas,
are being strictly checked, Pak said. ''Those who are suspected of infection
are isolated and under medical surveillance until results are confirmed.''
The national commission, headed by Premier Kim Yong Il, met April 29 to discuss
prevention measures.
The government is raising the awareness of the public against the disease
through media such as newspapers and television, according to Pak.
